I went back to work when Oliver was 3 1/2 months old. It was incredibly hard for me to leave him, but it made it much easier knowing that he was home with daddy every day.
Of course, daddy does things a little differently than mommy does.
But then, Oliver doesn’t seem to mind too much.
It doesn’t stop me from calling home at least once a day to see how Oliver’s slept, eaten, pooped, and otherwise.
The other day, when calling home, Nick told me, “I need to send you a picture. I needed to set Oliver down really quickly for something so I looked around and set him down in a … funny place.”
Yes, THAT makes a mom’s heart feel at ease.
I got this a few minutes later.
At first glance, I thought it was the toilet. I thought my husband had set our child in the toilet. But then I realized it was our bathroom sink.
We’ve found that it really is quite a convenient place to set a kid.
He doesn’t seem to mind, either.

Just wait until he realizes that if he hits one of those knobs…
