Welcome to The Spicy Ginger!

Hello!  Welcome to the inaugural post of “The Spicy Ginger” blog!  I’m so excited you’re here!  Thanks for joining for this “birthday” celebration of the blog!

Whether you’ve happened upon my blog from the netherworlds of the interweb, or you’re following me here from my previous blog (Our Beautiful Mess), I’m so glad to see you!  I’ve been dreaming and scheming about launching my Big Girl Food Blog for a couple years now, and we’re finally here!  Ahh!!

Food is one of the ways I experience life.  I love cooking, I love eating, and I love making delicious food for other people.  Eating good food makes people smile.  It can better the worst of days, and it can help create and recreate memories of beautiful moments in life.  I hope that, through this blog, I can share delicious recipes with lots of new friends, helping to bring smiles to those little moments where life and food meet.

Where does the blog name come from, you ask?  I’ll give my husband credit for that one.  I happen to be a redhead with a fair bit of…shall we say…spunk? “The Spicy Ginger” just seemed appropriate.

We’re still getting things settled around here, and you’ll probably see little changes here and there as we try things out and get everything squared away.  Thanks for being patient!  I just couldn’t wait to get going, so here we are!  Take a look around – lots of clever new features like the Recipe Index, the search bar, a simpler comment feed, and a snazzy logo (thanks, Nicklas!).

Seeing as how I can’t really do anything in life without somehow involving food in it, it seemed only appropriate to celebrate this momentous occasion with my latest favorite cupcake creation on this “birthday” of the blog – candle and everything!  You can find the recipe to these Oreo Lover’s Cupcakes here, and please do take a look around!  Feel free to leave a comment below (I love hearing from you!), and don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss a post!
